Volunteer coaches are always needed – Please reach out to Steve Gard at steve.gard@elginil.gov if you are interested!

Sign up starting November 1st for our Winter season of youth basketball. Players will learn the skills of the game and most importantly – teamwork and sportsmanship.

Practice schedules will be emailed to participants at least one week prior to the start of the season.

For 2nd Grade through 8th Grade, each team has one 60-minute practice once per week. Practice day, time, and location are selected by the volunteer coach that drafts your child to their team. Practices will be held at The Centre or Harriet Gifford Elementary School, Monday-Thursday evenings between 5:30-8:30pm. Games are played on Saturdays at The Centre of Elgin between 8am-4pm. Additional days and locations may be added to accommodate more teams. Due to the size of the league, no friend or coach requests will be granted.

Our Kindergarten/1st grade teams do NOT practice during the week; these teams will practice for 30 minutes followed by their game on Saturdays. The practice start time will be the time that is shown on the game schedule; for example, if your K/1 team is scheduled for Saturday at 1:15pm, you will practice from 1:15-1:45pm and then play your game from 1:45-2:15pm.

Fee includes reversible jersey, 8 game season, officials’ fees, and awards.

All participants registering after December 3, 2026 will be put on a waiting list. Registered players should attend the skills evaluation the week of December 7, 2026 at The Centre of Elgin; the schedule is provided below.
